Razer has announced the availability for pre-order of Razer Forge TV, the critically-acclaimed Android TV micro-console, and Razer Serval, the accompanying Bluetooth game controller. Razer Forge TV won eight awards in January at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show, including two coveted “Best of CES” awards.

Razer Forge TV ($99.99) and Razer Serval (bundled with Forge TV, $149.99; $79.99, separately) are available now online at RazerStore and Amazon. Both products will begin shipping within two weeks for North America.

Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO stated:

“Razer Forge TV is unique, allowing users to experience the very best of Android gaming, entertainment streaming and, later this year, hardcore PC gaming, from the living room. It’s a terrific value. Our advancements in the development community make Razer Forge TV the definitive console for a burgeoning Android TV experience.”

Razer began distribution of Razer Forge TV hardware development kits to Android programmers this year, most recently at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. The device will ship with three games preloaded: Modern Combat 5: Blackout, BombSquad, and Age of Zombies.

Multimedia content and Android games are powered by a quad-core Qualcomm CPU and dedicated GPU in the Razer Forge TV. All this power and performance has been engineered into a sleek and compact design.

Raj Talluri, senior vice president of product management, Qualcomm Technologies Inc added:

“Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, the Razer Forge TV is designed to bring gamers console-quality graphics and an immersive gameplay experience to their living room. Its high-quality video-post processing capabilities and high-capacity video engine also enable great picture quality with multi-video decode, making it a great platform for video services.”

Razer Forge TV was selected the “Best Gaming” product at CES 2015 and also won “People’s Choice” by way of an open public vote, besting a field of more than 20,000 other products. The Razer Turret lapboard and mouse and Razer Cortex: Stream software will be released later this year, allowing PC games to be played in the living room by streaming through the Forge TV.
