Zipper Interactive Shutting Down Still Just A Rumor

Zipper Interactive, one of Sony’s first party studios who are best known for their Socom franchise and the massively hyped FPS turned flopped shooter MAG, is in the process of being shut down, according to the internet rumor mill.

While Sony themselves hasn’t responded or even addressed the claims that they are closing the doors at Zipper, that doesn’t really change the fact that they haven’t denied it either. But anyone browsing the rumors online in gaming has heard talks over the past few days about numerous layoffs and the cancelling of a few projects they’ve been working on.

This comes as a surprise seeing as their most recent title to come out Unit 13 on the PS Vita is considered quite the sleeper hit around here at ThoseGamingNerds. Hopefully we’ll hear an official announcement either verifying the closing of Zipper Interactive or stating they will remain open so we can continue to demand they give us a Socom 2 HD Remake.
