When talking about the Wii U, many have boasted that the graphical capabilities will raise the bar above the current generation of consoles. But according to reports coming from GameIndustry, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Several developers agreed to speak on the Wii U under the parameters of remaining anonymous. With this came claims that the Wii U’s graphics are “just not as powerful”. One developer even stated that “it’s not up to the same level as the PS3 or the 360”. Words that are sure to fall heavily on the ears of hardcore gamers and graphics enthusiast.
“Yeah, that’s true. It doesn’t produce graphics as well as the PS3 or the 360,” cosigned another developer from a major company. “There aren’t as many shaders, it’s not as capable. Sure, some things are better, mostly as a result of it being a more modern design. But overall the Wii U just can’t quite keep up.”
I’m pretty sure graphics aren’t a main selling point for the Wii U. After all, the Wii did just fine being graphically mediocre and lacking High Definition capabilities. Nintendo has always been about the features of the console and put their money towards being intuitive more so than horse power. Either way, this little tid bit of information is sure to make hardcore gamers raise an eyebrow and get the Nintendo loyalist in a verbal slugfest with the competitor’s loyalist.
