The Quick and the Dead (Week of December 4th)

Hello once again, Andrew here, bringing you the long lost Quick and the Dead… Finally. The last month I had to spend dead as Mark has started to retaliate against me for all the attempts I have made to take him out. It seems as though Mark has taken it on himself to try and stave me out of my need to be rid of him. He has effectively cut me off of all my bacon suppliers, if not for my bacon reserves it would have worked. And that is not all, he has also managed to marooned me in a internet and cell service dead zone for a few weeks, without my realizing what was happening before I had even arrived.  But now I have regained my bacon suppliers and returned to my lair to plot his demise once again. He thought he was going to destroy my ambitions, but in reality all he has done was strengthened my resolve to be rid of him once and for all. Now lets get on with the show.

This is how the Quick and the Dead works:

  • Quick off the shelves: This game will sell out fast, think the likes of Halo, Uncharted, or pretty much any Blizzard game. Better Pre-Order.
  • Late to the party: This game is good, but it won’t be until an update or small price drop that this game takes off. At least it is fashionably late.
  • Bargain Bin Bound: This is the kind of game you don’t buy unless it is less than $20 and no one is watching. Ever have the feeling that guy behind the counter is judging you? You are probably buying one of these.
  • Dead on Arrival: It’s the games they play in hell.

Far Cry 3

The Good: Far Cry 3 has a beautifully crafted huge map where you can go anywhere you want. It gives it a feel of Assassin’s Creed mixed with automatic weapons, explosions and drugs. The land comes alive and you will never know what expect, a snake could bite you, or you can find a crocodile attacking something else. The gunplay in Far Cry is just spot on, all the guns feel powerful and the RPGesk skills make you just want to keep playing.

The Bad: The story can be confusing, and elements don’t connect all the time. Some of the characters seem bland as well.

The Verdict: No matter how I look at it I would have to say that Far Cry 3 will be…
